Driveway, Asphalt Surfacing and External Works

CMD Building Contractor Ltd delivered a complete driveway-entrance and asphalt-surfacing package in Sherborne, Dorset. CMD excavated and prepared approximately 36m² of driveway before installing HB2 kerbs on concrete foundations with concrete haunching to provide stability and edge restraint. The formation was completed with a compacted Type 1 sub-base, followed by a 20mm dense asphalt binder course and a 10mm asphalt surface course, rolled and compacted to produce a durable, consistent finish — all within two days.

CMD also acted as the main contractor for the construction of approximately 100m² of permeable resin-bound driveway and associated external works in Exmouth, Devon. CMD completed the earthworks and excavation to achieve the required formation depths before installing a ground membrane and compacted Type 3 sub-base, providing a stable and free-draining foundation, together with concrete edging and a 20mm open-graded asphalt binder course suitable for the final permeable surface. CMD managed the specialist surfacing subcontractor responsible for installing the finished resin-bound surface, delivering the complete package in approximately nine days.
